Cat lover’s afternoon wine tour takes a wild turn when the third stop comes with an unexpected souvenir

Some people come home from a wine tour with a few bottles. Others somehow come home responsible for a kitten.

Reddit user Lovable_Geek had snagged a spot on a private wine tour with 13 other women for an afternoon of sipping and sightseeing. At the third stop, a cider farm, the group immediately noticed several cats hanging around the parking area. One tiny orange kitten quickly stole everyone's attention, happily being held and soaking up pets from 14 new admirers.

The tour guide mentioned that the kitten was available for adoption. His two siblings had already found homes, while the kittens' feral parents had arrived at the farm back in May. After the tasting, Lovable_Geek went back to spend more time with the little orange and casually asked the owner what adopting him would involve.

Turns out, not much. The farm taped up a box, added some air holes, and suddenly there was a kitten joining the ride home. Nothing like heading out for an afternoon of cider and returning with an entirely new family member.

The spicy little orange wasn't thrilled about staying inside his makeshift carrier and kept attempting an escape, so friends met them back in the city with a proper one. He's now staying separately in the bathroom while getting treated for fleas and parasites. The resident dog is already obsessed with him, while the adult cat has chosen offense.

A vet appointment also delivered one surprise: the kitten everyone thought was a girl is actually a boy. Despite being a little small and needing some extra care, he was a total champ for his blood draw.

The CDS really turned a casual afternoon at a cider farm into one heck of a souvenir.

  • He may still be a tiny kitten, but those whiskers are looking seriously grown. They’re practically taking up half his little face, like he borrowed them from a much bigger cat while he waits to grow into them. Between the tiny ears, baby face, and those impressively long whiskers sticking out in every direction, he’s got quite the look going already. Give him a few months and the rest of him might finally catch up to those full-sized feline whiskers.

  • Hard to plan a better day than this. You’ve got friends, wine, a cider farm, and then a tiny orange kitten decides to join the group. What more could you possibly want? Going out for a fun afternoon and coming home with a new feline friend feels like hitting the weekend jackpot. The kitten even came with 14 honorary godparents ready to spoil him.   • You really can’t get a better souvenir than a new pet. Wine bottles eventually empty and little trinkets end up forgotten on a shelf, but a tiny orange kitten gets to come home and become part of the family. Going out expecting a fun afternoon and returning with a new feline friend is pretty hard to beat. It’s the kind of souvenir that sticks around for years, takes over the couch, demands snacks, and gives you plenty of memories long after the trip is over.
